Kazakhstan, Iran explore expanded air connectivity, tourism cooperation
Kazakhstan and Iran are considering expanding their air links, including the launch of new flights from Astana to Iran, following discussions held during the June visit of Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh to Kazakhstan.
Iranian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Ali Akbar Jokar said the talks also covered plans to increase the number of flights from Almaty and Aktau, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kazakh media.
"This presents a major opportunity and significant potential for developing tourism between our two countries," the ambassador said.
Jokar added that the number of weekly flights operating on the Aktau–Tehran route is expected to rise from two to three.
The sides also discussed prospects for expanding maritime tourism across the Caspian Sea, highlighting broader efforts to strengthen transport connectivity and tourism cooperation between Kazakhstan and Iran.
