Kyrgyzstan, Georgia seek stronger partnership across key sectors PHOTO
Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev and his Georgian counterpart Maka Botchorishvili held talks in Bishkek focused on strengthening Kyrgyz–Georgian cooperation. The discussions, held during an official Georgian visit, highlighted the expansion of political dialogue and practical collaboration across a number of areas, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.
The sides discussed the current state and future prospects of Kyrgyz-Georgian cooperation, emphasizing the importance of further developing political dialogue and strengthening bilateral partnership.
Particular attention was paid to the outcomes of the second meeting of the Kyrgyz-Georgian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, which took place in Bishkek on the same day. The ministers reviewed cooperation in the fields of trade, transport, tourism, and digitalization, as well as regional and international issues on the current agenda.
Botchorishvili congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2027–2028 term and expressed interest in learning from the country’s experience in conducting the related election campaign.
For his part, Kulubaev invited the Georgian side to participate in the Second Mountain Summit, scheduled to be held in October 2027.
At the conclusion of the talks, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in further expanding cooperation and maintaining active dialogue at all levels.
