Lithuania deploys "dragon teeth" near borders with Russia, Belarus
Lithuania's Defence Minister Laurynas Kasciunas Lithuania has said Lithuania purchased and sent "dragon teeth", anti-tank hedgehogs and other defence equipment to the border with Russia and Belarus.
According to him, the state has purchased counter-mobility means from Lithuanian manufacturers for 4 million euros. They are being delivered to 27 points in the border area, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
The opening of the first storage site of the defence means is scheduled for August 22. There will be 27 of them in total. If necessary, the barriers will be delivered to the place of installation. In September, the construction of fortifications on the border with the Kaliningrad region will begin.
Earlier, the Lithuanian Defence Ministry decided not to mine the border with Russia in advance. According to Kasčiūnas, mines will be installed if necessary near the border and in the areas of the main routes of movement of army units.
