Lukashenko: US provides two-thirds of Belarus humanitarian aid
Alexander Lukashenko has claimed that the United States accounts for roughly two-thirds of all humanitarian assistance received by Belarus, in remarks that highlighted continued engagement with American-linked charities despite strained political relations.
Speaking during a meeting with Franklin Graham, Lukashenko said Washington remained the dominant provider of humanitarian support to the country, even as Minsk frequently criticises Western sanctions policy, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
“It’s not about volumes, but I think after our meeting you will pay more attention to Belarus… about two-thirds of all humanitarian aid we receive comes from the United States,” he said, according to comments carried by state media.
Lukashenko praised US-linked humanitarian efforts, describing American assistance as “good” and thanking Graham for his “support and help” to Belarusian citizens.
