Lukashenko: Belarus on alert over hostile pressure from Poland, Baltic states
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has accused neighbouring Poland and the Baltic states of adopting an increasingly hostile stance towards Minsk, warning that the pressure is being felt across all sectors.
Speaking to the state news agency, Lukashenko said the aggressive posture of Belarus’s western neighbours was “deeply alarming”, Caliber.Az reports.
“What is concerning is the highly aggressive attitude from our neighbours — Poland and the Baltic countries — towards Belarus. Pressure is being exerted in all directions. Our security services are feeling it most acutely,” he said.
In response, the president emphasised that the Belarusian government is prioritising the work of the State Security Committee (KGB) and the broader security apparatus.
Lukashenko has also called for strengthened efforts in the field of cybersecurity. The President is confident that the country has the necessary specialists capable of ensuring the protection of cyberspace at the highest level.
“We have intelligent and capable people in our country. They need to be identified and tasked with securing our cyberspace, taking into account the views of these smart, capable patriots. There are plenty of them in the country,” the President stressed.
