Dozens injured after two trams collide in Düsseldorf
A collision between two trams in Düsseldorf on Saturday afternoon, May 23, left dozens of people injured, though authorities say none of the victims is in life-threatening condition.
According to police, cited by Bild, the incident resulted in multiple casualties, while emergency services provided further details on the scale of the accident. The local fire service reported that 27 people sustained injuries, including five who were seriously hurt. At the time of the crash, more than 60 passengers were on board the two trams.

In addition, 28 individuals were treated at the scene but were not found to have sustained injuries.
The accident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Berliner Allee and Graf-Adolf-Straße in the Friedrichstadt district of the city. Preliminary information indicates that the trams collided for reasons that have not yet been determined.
Meanwhile, Rheinische Post reported that one of the trams may have been operating on the wrong track at the time of the collision. Among the scenarios being examined is a possible error in switching the tracks.
