Uzbekistan sends 200 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan
Uzbekistan has sent around 200 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan ahead of the Eid al-Adha holiday and to support residents affected by flash floods.
The shipment of essential food supplies was delivered to Balkh province, Caliber.Az reports, citing Uzbek media.
The delivery ceremony was attended by Uzbekistan’s Special Presidential Representative for Afghanistan Ismatilla Irgashev, Surkhandarya region governor Ulugbek Qosimov, and Balkh Deputy Governor Nurulhodi Abu Idris.
The aid package included essential food products such as flour, rice, sugar, pasta, confectionery, vegetable oil, chickpeas, and instant food items.
The assistance was described as a symbol of good neighbourly relations, mutual support, and friendship between the peoples.
The Afghan side expressed gratitude to the president and people of Uzbekistan for the support and conveyed greetings on the upcoming holiday.
