Media: Estonia to produce anti-drone missiles in Ukraine
Frankenburg Technologies, a new Estonian defense company, has announced it will begin manufacturing anti-drone missile systems in Ukraine, which is facing heightened Russian air raids.
This move highlights the growing interest of European arms producers in setting up production in Ukraine, Caliber.Az reports via Bloomberg.
German company Rheinmetall AG had previously revealed plans to open an artillery ammunition plant in Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Denys Shmyhal mentioned in March that Ukraine had signed five contracts with foreign arms companies for joint ventures, stating, "In the future, there will be dozens of joint productions."
Founded in January, Frankenburg Technologies leverages the expertise of Estonia’s former top military commander, Martin Herem, alongside Kuldar Vaarsi, CEO of Milrem Robotics. The company was co-founded by Taavi Madiberk, CEO of Skeleton Technologies, with Margus Linnamäe, a prominent Estonian entrepreneur, holding an indirect ownership stake.
Sergiy Koshman, formerly an expert for the Ukrainian president’s office and at Nokia Siemens Networks, has been appointed CEO in Ukraine.
