Media: France denies blocking US military flights to Israel
France has denied claims that it restricted U.S. military aircraft from flying over its territory en route to Israel, according to a French military source cited by BFMTV.
The source said France has not changed its overflight policy for American military planes, contradicting earlier remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump.
The same source added that landing conditions also remain unchanged. Only logistics transport aircraft are permitted to land, specifically at the Istres and Avord air bases in southern and central France.
Earlier on March 31, Trump criticised France in a post on his Truth Social platform, saying the country “wouldn’t let planes headed to Israel, loaded up with military supplies, fly over French territory,” and describing France as “VERY UNHELPFUL.”
