Media: Iran to launch missile strikes on Israel “20 times stronger” than before
Iran has threatened to launch missile attacks against Israel that would be “20 times the size” of previous strikes, the Iranian military announced on June 14.
The Iranian military announced it would launch approximately 2,000 missiles toward Israel in future attacks, vowing that the upcoming missile attacks on Israel will be 20 times the size of their predecessors, Caliber.Az reports via Al Arabiya.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards stated that the operation against Israel will continue as long as necessary.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared that its main target in recent operations was three Israeli air bases allegedly used to launch attacks on Iran.
It was also reported that Israeli drones on a reconnaissance mission were shot down in the northwestern Salmas border region. Its military sources claimed that the drones violated Iranian airspace on espionage missions.
The warning follows a series of tit-for-tat attacks between the two countries and signals a dangerous intensification of the regional conflict.
In response, the Israeli military confirmed that multiple air raid sirens were activated across the country following the detection of Iranian drones. A statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said several incoming drones had been intercepted. Al Arabiya and Al Hadath correspondents reported that drones were intercepted over the Golan Heights and Upper Galilee.
Israel launched a massive assault on Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure on June 13, using warplanes and smuggled drones to strike key sites and kill senior generals and scientists in a bid to halt Iran’s atomic progress. In response, Iran fired dozens of ballistic missiles at Israel, prompting explosions over Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
