Media: North Korea adds Russian language to official postal stamp descriptions for first time
North Korea has incorporated Russian into the description of its upcoming postal stamp series set to be released in the new year.
The announcement for the stamp release, posted on the Korea Stamp Corp.'s site, featured images and details of four stamps scheduled for issuance on January 20, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
These details were provided in four languages: Korean, English, Chinese, and Russian, along with an order form. This move reflects the country's increasing alignment with Russia. The Russian language has been included in the stamp descriptions for the first time.
The Russian language was not included in the stamp descriptions commemorating the Year of Friendship between Russia and North Korea in 2015. This move reflects the rapid development of cooperation between the two countries following the signing of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement in 2024.
