Minister: Hungary, Kazakhstan embrace new geopolitical reality, reject Western attacks
Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó has said that Hungary and Kazakhstan always stood for peace and pursued policies based on sovereignty and mutual respect, which has made them targets of attacks by the neoliberal ideology of Western countries.
Szijjártó made these remarks during his official visit to Kazakhstan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
"We have held today's meeting in an atmosphere where we discussed a completely new geopolitical reality. This geopolitical reality, I would say, is positive for both countries because here we talked about nations that have always stood for peace, that have always pursued policies based on sovereignty and mutual respect, taking into account national interests. As a result, both countries have suffered attacks from the neoliberal ideology of the West," he said.
He also shared "good news," stating, "From this moment on, our mutual international cooperation is founded on mutual respect. We aim to uphold international laws and principles."
Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó arrived in Kazakhstan for an official visit. During his trip, Szijjártó held both restricted and extended talks with Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu.
Nurtleu expressed Kazakhstan's strong interest in further developing relations with Budapest. Over the past 30 years, bilateral ties have flourished, marked by significant political dialogue, robust trade, economic and investment cooperation, and growing cultural and humanitarian exchanges. Notably, mutual visits by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán have reinforced these political dialogues.
