Minister: Poland ready to restart US weapon transfers to Ukraine
Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak has announced Poland’s readiness to resume the transfer of US weapons to Ukraine.
Błaszczak confirmed that Poland is fully prepared to restart the flow of military aid to Ukraine through the logistics hub located in Jasionka, a key site for the transfer of international assistance, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
He further emphasised that the airport, where the hub is situated, remains operational and continues receiving shipments of aid from other countries. In early March 2025, Poland suspended the shipment of US weapons to Ukraine.
Earlier, these shipments were transported to the logistics hub in the city of Rzeszów before being immediately sent to Kyiv. However, following the suspension of deliveries, the cargo is now being redirected to a base where the US 82nd Airborne Division is stationed.
According to an unnamed worker at the Polish logistics hub, the US weapons and ammunition will be kept in accordance with instructions from Washington regarding the continuation of military aid to Ukrainian forces. Meanwhile, journalists have uncovered that military cargo from other Western countries is still sent to the conflict zone from Rzeszów.
