The Youth Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) was underway in Azerbaijan’s Shusha city on July 29.

Following the meeting, young people from more than 60 NAM member states viewed the central square of Shusha with the busts of Azerbaijani famous personalities, namely, Natavan, Bulbul and Uzeyir Hajibayli, which were hit as a result of shelling by the Armenian armed forces, according to Trend.

The summit participants were told that during the occupation, the Armenians wanted to melt down these busts and take them to Armenia.

They were bought and brought to Azerbaijan on the initiative of Azerbaijani great leader Heydar Aliyev, where they were kept in the yard of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art in Baku. After Shusha was liberated from the occupation, the busts of famous personalities were returned to their original places.

Then the participants of the summit visited Jidir Plain, the museum-mausoleum of Molla Panah Vagif and the Shusha fortress. They were informed about Jidir Plain, which was always a favorite place for Shusha residents and guests of the city. The summit participants were informed about the museum- mausoleum of Molla Panah Vagif.

The mausoleum, like all other historical monuments, was damaged as a result of Armenian vandalism.

The museum-mausoleum of Molla Panah Vagif was completely restored by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and its second opening ceremony was held in August 2021. The guests viewed the city walls and were informed about the Shusha fortress at the end of the visit.
