New mosque in Sugovushan can accommodate nearly 100 worhsippers PHOTO
The mosque, which newly opened in Aghdara's Sugovushan village, is capable of accommodating approximately 100 worshippers at once.
Afat Telmangizi, head of the public relations department of the Restoration, Construction, and Management Service for the Khankendi, Aghdara, and Khojaly districts, shared details about the mosque’s design and facilities during a press briefing, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“The first floor of the mosque is designated for men, while the second floor is for women. The interior is thoughtfully decorated with decorative elements, and the surrounding area has been landscaped,” she explained.
The mosque’s foundation was laid in March 2022, with the project symbolizing the region’s ongoing efforts to rebuild and revitalize local communities.
To recall, the inauguration took place on March 18, 2025, with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, marking the culmination of a significant community project.
