Turkish official: Azerbaijan's Lachin to host summit fostering stronger ties among Turkic States

09 April 2025 21:08

Chief Advisor to the Turkish president Çagri Erhan has announced that next month, Azerbaijan’s Lachin city will host a summit of the Organisation of Turkic States, further strengthening the cooperation among member states.

Erhan made these remarks at the 7th Political Forum held at ADA University in Baku. The forum focused on the theme "Facing the New World Order", Caliber.Az reports via local media.

He highlighted the importance of the upcoming summit, noting that it would showcase the deepening solidarity between Türkiye and Azerbaijan on key issues of unity and collaboration within the Turkic world.

The advisor emphasised that the ties between Azerbaijan and Türkiye go far beyond those of any other countries. “Azerbaijan and Türkiye have established high-level relations in every sector—ranging from economics and tourism to political connections, including defense ties and allied relations under the Shusha Declaration,” Erhan said.

He further elaborated that trade and investments between the two countries also play a crucial role in contributing to the peace and stability of the South Caucasus region.

Erhan praised the leadership of both Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, stating that their leadership, based on fraternal bonds, provides a strong foundation for fostering mutual unity and cooperation between the two nations.
