Fragments of a human skeleton have been discovered in the village of Bash Guney, located in Azerbaijan's Aghdara district, prompting an investigation by the relevant authorities.
The discovery was made by local residents who alerted the appropriate agencies, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
According to a report from the Public Relations Department of the Restoration, Construction, and Management Service in the cities of Khankendi, Aghdara, and Khojaly districts, the remains are believed to belong to the martyr Eseddin Novruzov, though they have yet to be removed from beneath the collapsed building.
A team from the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages, and Missing Persons is expected to retrieve the remains from the site.
The remains were initially identified by Zahir Göyüşov, the brother of the late Gurban Göyüşov, who suggested that the fragments could belong to his sibling. The remains were taken by the prosecutor's office on the previous day for forensic examination to determine the identity.
The bodies of Eseddin Novruzov and Gurban Göyüşov were reportedly left by their relatives at the site of the discovery following their deaths on March 12, 1992. The remains have been sent for further analysis to confirm their identity.
Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
