Iran develops over 900 domestic defence systems, ministry reports
Iran’s defence industry has made significant advancements, with the country now producing over 900 types of defence and weapon systems, marking a major leap from its capabilities before the Islamic Revolution.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Defence, this achievement highlights the country’s progress in modernizing its armed forces, Caliber.az reports via Iranian media.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence emphasized that Iran's military is now equipped with some of the most advanced defence and drone technologies available. "Our defence industry has reached a point where over 900 types of defence and weapon systems are now produced domestically," he stated.
This milestone represents a stark contrast to Iran's defence capabilities prior to the revolution, when the country only possessed 31 basic defence tools. The spokesperson credited the development to the support of Iranian youth and universities, which have played a pivotal role in driving innovation and strengthening the nation's defense sector.
Additionally, the Ministry highlighted the country’s progress in scientific advancements, noting that Iran’s global scientific rank has risen by 40 places, now standing at 16th.
