NATO Secretary General: "horrific" winter awaits Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin is defeated in Ukraine, so he responds with even more brutal rocket attacks on cities and civilian infrastructure.
It's a terrible start to winter for Ukrainians, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing a statement by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
"President Putin is failing in Ukraine. And he is responding with more brutality.Waves of deliberate missile attacks on cities and civilian infrastructure. Depriving Ukrainians of heat, light, and food. This is a horrific start to the winter for Ukraine," Stoltenberg stressed.
In turn, he underlined that there will be no peace if the aggressor wins, so NATO will support Ukraine as long as necessary.
"Yes, we are all paying a price for Russia’s war against Ukraine. But the price we pay is in money. While the price Ukrainians pay is in blood. And if we let Putin win, all of us will pay a much higher price, for many years to come," Stoltenberg said.
The NATO secretary general announced that at a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Bucharest on Nov. 29-30, he would ask allies to increase non-lethal assistance to Ukraine. Such as fuel, medical supplies, winter equipment and anti-drone capabilities.
