Nebenzya: Russia gave Ukraine a chance to preserve territorial integrity
Russia is still ready for negotiations with Ukraine, the Russian permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya said.
Moscow gave Kyiv a chance to preserve its territorial integrity, "of course, without Crimea", Kommersant quotes him as saying.
The diplomat made the remarks at a UN Security Council meeting.
"The threats emanating from the territory of Ukraine, created by NATO countries, will certainly be eliminated either as part of a special military operation or using political and diplomatic tools. We have never refused the latter, having given the Ukrainian leadership an excellent chance to preserve its territorial integrity. Of course, without Crimea, which back in 2014 decided to become part of Russia. To preserve its territorial integrity and the lives of hundreds of thousands of its citizens," Nebenzya said.
