Iran, Russia to hold joint naval drills in Caspian Sea
Naval forces from Iran and Russia are set to conduct a joint maritime rescue and relief exercise in the Caspian Sea next week.
The drill, codenamed CASAREX 2025, will commence on Monday, July 21, and run for three days, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media.
Hosted by the northern fleet of the Iranian Navy, the exercise will be held under the theme “Together for a Safe and Secure Caspian Sea.”
Participants will include servicemen from the Iranian Navy, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy, the Law Enforcement Command of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Russian Navy. Additionally, observers from several Caspian littoral states will be present.
The primary objectives of CASAREX 2025 are to enhance maritime security and safety across the Caspian Sea region and to strengthen cooperation among the naval forces of the Caspian countries.
