Netherlands lifts all COVID-19 restrictions
The Netherlands government has decided to completely lift coronavirus-related restrictions.
The former need for self-testing when symptoms of the virus appear, as well as home quarantine, have canceled, RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to the local media company NOS.
Dutch Health Mnister Ernst Capers said COVID-19 will now be treated like any other respiratory infection. The virus will be treated just like other respiratory infections.
"Now you can really call it a type of flu," he said.
COVID-19 will never go away, Capers said, but "almost everyone in the Netherlands has now built up such protection" that the consequences are much less serious than before.
He added that coronavirus-infected patients are still being admitted daily. There are currently about 900 infected people in hospitals.
