North Korea uses balloons for political propaganda, sending criticisms of South Korean leadership
The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) has used balloons to send a mixture of rubbish and political propaganda to the Republic of Korea, including leaflets that criticized the South Korean president and key members of his administration.
The leaflets reportedly contained insults targeting President Yoon Suk Yeol, calling him names such as "stupid moron," and included a message warning that South Korea could be defeated by a nuclear strike, Caliber.Az reports citing South Korean media.
The materials also criticized National Security Adviser Shin Won-sik and Defence Minister Kim Yong-hyun. The leaflets allegedly featured photos of South Korean drones that had been found in Pyongyang, despite South Korea officially denying any involvement in their launch.
In addition to the personal attacks, the leaflets reportedly included references to North Korea's nuclear capabilities, along with a stern warning to stop launching leaflets from South Korea into the North.
