NYT: Next US-Ukraine-Russia talks to focus on 20-point peace plan
The next round of trilateral talks between the US, Ukraine, and Russia, set to take place in the UAE, will focus on the US-proposed 20-point peace plan.
The plan includes potential territorial agreements, security guarantees, and measures for Ukraine’s reconstruction, The New York Times (NYT) reports.
It remains unclear why the last round of talks, originally expected on February 1, was postponed by several days, with none of the parties commenting on the delay.
Meanwhile, POLITICO highlights Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s statement that the United States is currently focused on rising tensions with Iran.
According to the outlet Zelenskyy said the next trilateral talks involving Ukraine, Russia, and the United States are scheduled for February 4–5, after meetings planned for February 1 were cancelled due to Washington’s focus on rising tensions in the Middle East.
