Official: China never supplies weapons to Russia or Ukraine
Spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry Lin Jian has said that China does not supply weapons to the parties involved in the Russia-Ukraine conflict and has consistently advocated for a political settlement of the conflict.
Lin made these remarks during a briefing, where he addressed claims in the European press that China is assisting Russia to produce drones, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
"China has always maintained an objective and fair position on the Ukrainian issue, and we actively call for peace and negotiations. This sharply contrasts with the actions of some countries that apply double standards and add fuel to the fire of the Ukrainian crisis," Lin said.
Lin further emphasised that China has always approached the export of military products and dual-use goods responsibly.
“China has never supplied lethal weapons to the parties involved in the conflict,” he added.
The diplomat also called for an end to speculation on the matter and urged against slandering China.
Earlier, Politico, citing a senior EU diplomat, reported that intelligence had information about a plant in China allegedly producing drones for Russia. Beijing has repeatedly dismissed such claims as unfounded and stated that it strictly controls the export of drones.
