Additionally, large quantities of explosives and ammunition were seized, crippling the group’s capacity to operate.
The operation, which unfolded with precision, made use of advanced technologies, including gendarmerie UAVs and ATAK helicopters, alongside elite forces such as gendarmerie special operations units (JÖH), commandos, and security ranger teams. These forces coordinated their efforts across challenging terrain to ensure the effective neutralization of PKK assets.
In a previous operation on November 26, Türkiye targeted ISIS cells across 18 provinces. A total of 54 individuals were arrested during these operations, with criminal cases initiated. Twenty of those detained were arrested by court order.
The Turkish government’s ongoing efforts against ISIS have been intensifying, with more than 3,000 individuals arrested in the past year on suspicion of affiliation with the terrorist group, as confirmed by the Ministry of the Interior.
