Pakistan reaffirms solidarity with Iran, calls for dialogue to ease Gulf crisis
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, during which he underscored Pakistan’s willingness to contribute constructively to efforts aimed at the peaceful resolution of tensions in the Persian Gulf.
As Caliber.Az reports, the Pakistani prime minister reaffirmed Islamabad’s readiness to support diplomatic initiatives designed to promote stability and dialogue in the region.
“Spoke with my brother President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian to convey warm Eid-ul-Fitr and Nowruz greetings to him and the brotherly people of Iran,” he wrote on his X account.
“As a neighbouring brotherly country, I expressed Pakistan’s solidarity with the brave Iranian people, conveyed deep condolences on the loss of precious lives, and prayed for the swift recovery of those injured and displaced.
We discussed the grave situation in the Gulf region and agreed on the urgent need for de-escalation, dialogue, and diplomacy. I also underscored the importance of unity in the ranks of the Ummah and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to playing a constructive role in advancing peace in the region,” Sharif noted.
