Pakistani security forces neutralise six terrorists in two operations
Pakistani security forces have killed six terrorists during two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Waziristan districts, the military's media wing announced on April 21.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), intelligence-based operations (IBOs) were carried out on April 20 and 21, with one of them taking place in the Razmak area of North Waziristan District. During this operation, the security forces engaged the terrorists, resulting in five militants being killed, Caliber.Az reports, citing Pakistani media.
In a second operation in South Waziristan District, security forces successfully neutralized the terrorist leader Zabiullah, alias Zakran, who was known for his involvement in numerous attacks on security forces and the targeted killing of innocent civilians. Zakran had been a top target for law enforcement agencies.
The ISPR confirmed that sanitisation operations are ongoing to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining terrorists in the area. "Security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country," the statement read.
Pakistan has seen an uptick in terrorist activities, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, following the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) withdrawal from its ceasefire agreement with the government in November 2022. In response, security forces have intensified their counterterrorism operations in these regions.
