Palestine's president demands UNSC emergency meeting over Israeli strikes on Nuseirat Camp

The head of the Palestinian National Authority Mahmoud Abbas has demanded an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council in connection with Israeli strikes on the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central part of the Gaza Strip.

"President Mahmoud Abbas instructed the Palestinian special representative to the UN to request the convening of an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss the consequences...," Gazeta.ru reports, citing the WAFA news agency..

It is noted that Abbas is in contact with relevant Arab and international parties to convene an emergency session of the UN Security Council to "counter the ongoing Israeli aggression."
