Bloomberg: Trump to announce $70 billion in AI, energy investments in Pennsylvania
President Donald Trump is set to unveil $70 billion in private-sector investments aimed at accelerating the development of artificial intelligence and bolstering U.S. energy infrastructure, according to a senior administration official.
The announcement will be made during an event outside Pittsburgh as part of a broader push by the White House to cement American leadership in next-generation technologies, Bloomberg reports.
The initiatives will be announced at the inaugural Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit, hosted at Carnegie Mellon University by Republican Senator David McCormick. The gathering is expected to draw nearly 60 high-profile executives from the technology and energy sectors.
According to officials, the investments will span the construction of new data centres, expansion of power generation, modernisation of grid infrastructure, and the launch of AI training and apprenticeship programs.
Among the major announcements, Blackstone Inc.’s President Jon Gray is expected to reveal a $25 billion initiative focused on data-centre development and energy infrastructure. The project, which includes a joint venture to increase domestic power generation capacity, is anticipated to create 6,000 construction jobs annually and 3,000 permanent roles.
Jake Murphy, a spokesman for Senator McCormick, confirmed the figures. Blackstone declined to comment on the details.
Executives expected to attend include BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, Palantir Technologies CEO Alex Karp, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, ExxonMobil CEO Darren Woods, and Chevron CEO Mike Wirth.
