Partisan sabotage knocks out Russian military communications in Belgorod Photo/Video
A Ukrainian partisan group has claimed responsibility for a sabotage attack on a Russian communications facility in the Belgorod region, near the border with Ukraine.
In a statement, the “Atesh” movement, a resistance group made up of Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars, said its agents set fire to a hardware module at the base of a communications tower. The group said the damage disabled all equipment mounted on the mast by cutting off its power supply, Caliber.Az reports.
According to “Atesh”, the tower played a key role in Russian military coordination and reconnaissance in the border area. The group said it previously hosted Murom-P video surveillance systems that provided real-time monitoring of movement near the frontier.
The statement also said the tower supported radio repeaters used to maintain communications between frontline units and command centres, as well as antennas linked to electronic warfare systems designed to disrupt drone operations.
