Poland threatens a NATO-wide response to missile deployment in Kaliningrad
Poland will call on NATO to collectively respond to Russia in the event of the deployment of hypersonic missiles in the Kaliningrad region.
Secretary of State of the Polish Defence Ministry Wojciech Skurkiewicz made the statement, Polish press agency PAP [Polska Agencja Prasowa] reports.
"As a state on the eastern flank of NATO, we are fully aware of the threat, and our actions will be adequate to the actions that Russia is taking," he threatened.
According to him, Warsaw can use the fifth article of the NATO charter, which mentions the formula "one for all and all for one", that is, an attack on one of the alliance states is equivalent to an attack on all participating countries.
"These guarantees have been and remain in force, and the corresponding obligations have been clearly voiced by the members of the North Atlantic Alliance and US President Joe Biden," the Secretary of State concluded.
