Poland to discuss transfer of fighter jets to Ukraine during Biden visit
The Polish authorities during negotiations with US President Joe Biden will raise the issue of the supply of combat aircraft to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
As Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Jablonski explained, Polish diplomats will also call for the supply of fighter jets during the Bucharest Nine summit on February 22, Polskie Radio S.A. reports.
"I don't want to get ahead of the facts. We will negotiate, and we will do everything to ensure that Ukraine receives any weapons it needs for defence... But actions of this type must be coordinated within the framework of NATO," he said.
According to the deputy minister, many allies of Ukraine can do more in the field of support for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
US President Joe Biden arrived in Poland tonight after an unannounced visit to Ukraine. He plans to meet with President Andrzej Duda, leaders of the Bucharest Nine countries, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and the US Embassy staffers in Warsaw.
