Not only prayers: Pope sends humanitarian aid to Ukraine ahead of holidays Photo
Three trucks carrying humanitarian aid sent by Pope Leo XIV are expected to arrive in Ukraine in the near future.
The shipment includes 100,000 servings of instant soup intended for civilians in the regions most affected by the fighting. The aid will be delivered to areas where ongoing hostilities and widespread destruction have severely disrupted access to electricity, water, and heating, the Vatican said, Caliber.Az reports via Vatican News.
The initiative is timed to coincide with the Christmas season and forms part of the Holy See’s broader humanitarian mission to support communities impacted by conflict. The three trucks, loaded with instant soups of various flavors, arrived at the Vatican before Christmas.

The food products were provided by a South Korean company that has previously supported the Vatican’s charitable efforts. The pontiff decided to direct the aid specifically to Ukrainian communities located in areas of active hostilities.
According to Vatican News, the move reflects the Pope’s intention not only to pray for peace but also to remain close to families enduring hardship as a result of the war.
