"Dear members of the National Olympic Committee!
I cordially congratulate you, as well as the entire sports community of our country, on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I convey my best wishes to each of you, I wish you new successes in future affairs.
Established in 1992, after the restoration of Azerbaijan's independence, the National Olympic Committee has been making every effort over the past period for the sake of our country's full realisation of its sporting potential. The committee has passed a glorious, rich path of achievements and, not limiting its work only to participation in the Olympic Games, has made a commendable contribution to the establishment of Olympic ideals and the dynamic development of sports in the republic. As a result of the effective organisation of the structure's activities, our athletes have achieved numerous successes at the Olympic Games, and European and World Championships.
Attention to sports is one of the priorities of state policy in our republic. A clear proof of this is the work aimed at strengthening the material and technical base of sports, including the most modern sports infrastructure, Olympic complexes, and specialised sports schools. I would especially like to emphasise the accumulated extensive experience of holding prestigious international sports competitions. Today, bright pages fit into the history of our sport, which is going through a period of recovery and thanks to which our flag is flying everywhere in the world. Azerbaijan, which has implemented grandiose projects in the sports field, is already recognised worldwide as a country that has achieved success.
Currently, the National Olympic Committee has become one of the authoritative organisations that makes a valuable contribution to the victories of our athletes at the Olympic Games and occupies a leading place among the Olympic structures of the continent, having established high-level mutual cooperation with them. I believe that on the basis of the key principles of the Olympic Charter, the committee will continue to use all its capabilities and abilities to ensure that the Olympic movement in our republic will gain even greater scope in the coming years, and will retain a significant position in our public life with its achievements," the president said in his message.
