President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that his country produces technologies, together achieving the goals of the "Türkiye Centenary" Concept.
“Yesterday, the domestic aircraft KAAN was taken out of the hangar, in the creation of which certain forces did not believe", according to Caliber.Az, Erdogan posted this on Twitter.
Gazi Mustafa Kemal’in “İstikbal göklerdedir” diyerek işaret ettiği çalışmalara Vecihi Hürkuşlar, Selahattin Reşit Alanlar, Nuri Demirağlar, Nuri Killigiller teşebbüs etmişti.

Ama bu vizyoner girişimler içeriden ve dışarıdan engellendi, ta ki bizim dönemimize kadar...…
"We have also witnessed the results of other critical Turkish defence projects: the Hürjet aircraft, the Atak-2 helicopter and the Anka-3 attack drone. Today, we do not only produce aircraft, helicopters, satellites, tanks, missiles and other weapons. Our country develops technologies and thus builds the Centenary of Türkiye,” the head of state wrote.
Erdogan quoted the words of the founder of the Republic of Türkiye, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who paid special attention to aviation: “The future is in the skies!”.
According to the Turkish leader, in the light of Ataturk's precepts, such well-known designers as Vecihi Hurkush, Selahattin Resit Alan, Nuri Demirag and Nuri Killigil sought to develop the domestic aircraft industry, but faced obstacles both inside and outside the country.
"The late Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan was 'lynched' when he spoke about the development of Türkiye's heavy industry," the president wrote further.
Erdogan noted that the course of the current Turkish authorities to completely independent defense industry also faced considerable difficulties and sabotage attempts.
“Despite everything, we did not deviate from our path, we did not give up, we continued to stick to our goals. Despite attempts at sabotage, we have gifted the Turkish people with the achievements that Atatürk dreamed of. However, we still have a long way to go,” the Turkish leader wrote.
