Prigozhin: Wagner PMC operates in Africa, Belarus
The founder of the private military company Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said that the PMC had stopped recruiting fighters.
According to him, a new recruitment is not planned, since there is no shortage of personnel.
According to NEWSru.co.il, he also said that at present the company operates only in Africa and in training centres located in Belarus. At the same time, he did not rule out that recruitment would be resumed if Russia needed to create a new “group”.
After the failure of the June 24 rebellion, the status of the PMC and Prigozhin himself remains unclear. The group continues to operate in Africa and Belarus in the interests of the Russian authorities, its command met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Prigozhin was also spotted at the Russia-Africa summit.
The activities of PMCs and the Russian authorities are also associated with a series of coups in West Africa, during which pro-Western leaders were overthrown. The latest such coup took place a few days ago in Niger.
