During the conversation, Al Thani once again condemned the attacks carried out by Iran on Qatari territory, stressing that such actions are unacceptable under any pretext or justification. He emphasised that Doha has consistently sought to distance itself from regional conflicts and has supported dialogue between Iran and the international community.
The Qatari prime minister also stressed the need for an immediate halt to any escalatory actions and called for a return to negotiations. He urged all sides to act with reason and wisdom in order to contain the crisis and safeguard regional security.
For his part, Egypt’s top diplomat, Badr Abdelatty, also called for de-escalation and urged all parties to rely on common sense and return to diplomatic methods of resolving disputes in order to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
