Riots erupt in France after teenager's death
Riots broke out in the town of Romans-sur-Isère in southeastern France after the death of a teenager in a stabbing incident during a holiday, law enforcers detained 20 people, three of whom were injured.
A teenager was killed in a stabbing incident during a holiday on the night of Sunday, November 19, in the commune of Crepol in the Drôme department in southeastern France, Report informs, citing BFMTV television channel.
"Extreme right-wing activists ... estimated at between 50 and 100 people ... took to the streets of the Monnaie quarter in the town of Romans-sur-Isère... Some of them overturned garbage cans and set fire to containers ... Twenty demonstrators were detained, and three were slightly injured," the TV channel points out. It is noted that they demanded justice for the dead teenager.
About 120 law enforcers were involved in ensuring order at the march. Protesters threw stones and firecrackers at law enforcers.
