Rosatom starts talks on construction of new nuclear power plant in Türkiye
The head of Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, said that the state corporation had entered into negotiations with the Turkish side regarding the construction of another nuclear power plant in the country on the Black Sea coast.
"The Akkuyu nuclear power plant is already being built now in Türkiye with the support of Rosatom. It is planned to be put into operation next year," Likhachev said on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel, according to Kommersant.
“We have started negotiations with our Turkish business partners on the formation of approaches in terms of technological alliances, investment policy and the formation of the Turkish energy market, taking into consideration of the future presence of a large nuclear power plant,” he added.
The head of the state corporation also said that the Turkish president proposed to involve a Russian company in the construction of a nuclear power plant on the Black Sea coast near the city of Sinop.
