Kyrgyz president arrives in Saint Petersburg for EAEU, CIS meetings
President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov has arrived in Saint Petersburg, where the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and an informal gathering of leaders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member countries will take place.
According to the press service of the Kyrgyz head of state cited by Caliber.Az, the presidential aircraft landed at Pulkovo International Airport in Saint Petersburg.
Japarov was welcomed by the Governor of Saint Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, and other officials.
During his working visit, President Japarov is scheduled to hold a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.
The events in Saint Petersburg will focus on key issues of Eurasian economic integration and the deepening of financial cooperation. Participants will also discuss energy sector cooperation and define priorities for collaboration within the CIS framework. It is expected that the visit will result in a series of decisions and documents within the agenda of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting.
