Putin's aide says European, Ukrainian changes to US peace plan "unhelpful"
Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov stated that the changes proposed by Europe and Ukraine to the US “peace plan” do not contribute to achieving long-term peace, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
According to Ushakov, the initiatives of the European and Ukrainian sides “do not improve the document and do not increase the likelihood of achieving a sustainable resolution.”
He also responded negatively when asked if he had any information on the meetings of Putin’s special envoy Kirill Dmitriev with US representatives in Miami.
Ushakov noted that the idea of a trilateral meeting involving Russia, the US, and Ukraine has not been seriously discussed. According to him, Dmitriev’s negotiations in Miami are only with the American side.
“So far, no one has seriously discussed this initiative, and it is not under consideration,” Ushakov said.
The Kremlin aide added that he has not yet seen any US documents regarding a peace settlement following discussions with Europe and Kyiv.
“We have received signals through the press, but honestly, I have not seen any papers myself,” Ushakov said in response to a related question.
