Russia, India streamline military cooperation with new agreement
Russia and India have signed a key agreement to streamline the process of military cooperation between the two countries' defence ministries.
The agreement, which simplifies the procedures for joint activities between the two nations' armed forces, was formalized following a meeting between Russian Deputy Defence Minister Aleksandr Fomin and Indian Ambassador to Russia Vinay Kumar, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
The meeting, held on February 18, concluded with the signing of a bilateral intergovernmental agreement, marking a significant step in enhancing military collaboration. The Russian Defence Ministry highlighted the importance of the document in further strengthening the defence ties between the two countries.
In a statement, the Ministry emphasized that both parties acknowledged the significance of the agreement in advancing their military cooperation, with a renewed commitment to reinforcing their strategic partnership.
The discussions also underscored the shared goal of consistently strengthening defence relations in line with the spirit of a "particularly privileged strategic partnership."
The agreement is expected to facilitate more efficient coordination between the Russian and Indian armed forces, paving the way for increased collaboration in defence activities.
