Civilians were injured across multiple regions of Ukraine following a wave of Russian strikes overnight on May 2, according to emergency services and regional authorities.
In the Kharkiv region, six people, including a child, were wounded after drones struck a residential area in the village of Vasyshcheve, located in the Kharkiv district.
“On the night of May 2, enemy UAVs struck the private sector in the village of Vasyshcheve in the Kharkiv district. A fire broke out over an area of 300 square meters — two private houses and a garage were burning. Neighbouring homes and outbuildings were also damaged by the explosions. Units of the State Emergency Service, a community rescue officer, and firefighters from a local fire team were involved in eliminating the consequences,” the State Emergency Service said.
In the Odesa region, port infrastructure sustained damage during overnight strikes, though no casualties were reported.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, three people were injured as Russian forces carried out nearly 20 attacks across four districts using drones and artillery, according to regional head Oleksandr Hanzha.

Emergency crews in Ternopil worked under difficult conditions to extinguish fires caused by the strikes. More than 100 rescuers and 30 pieces of equipment were deployed to contain and eliminate the blazes, preventing them from spreading to nearby structures.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said the attacks deliberately targeted civilians.
“All those injured during the attack are civilians, and the Russians understood this perfectly. In fact, such a brutal ‘safari’ on people takes place daily in our frontline and border communities. (...) In total, over this week, Russia launched around 1,600 attack drones at Ukraine, nearly 1,100 guided aerial bombs and three missiles. The Russians are trying to overload our air defence with mass attacks, which is why the supply of missiles is critically important every day,” he wrote.
