Russia, Ukraine report large-scale overnight drone attacks PHOTO
Russia and Ukraine have each reported intercepting large numbers of drones following overnight attacks, as both sides continue to exchange long-range strikes amid the ongoing war.
Russia's Ministry of Defence said its air defence forces intercepted 376 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones between 8:00 p.m. Moscow time on July 9 and 7:00 a.m. on July 10, Caliber.Az reports.
According to the ministry, the drones were shot down over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kursk, Leningrad, Novgorod, Pskov, Rostov, Smolensk, and Tver regions, as well as the Moscow region, Krasnodar Krai, and the Sea of Azov.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said 15 drones were intercepted while approaching the Russian capital. Russian authorities did not immediately report casualties or provide details on damage caused by the attacks.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's Air Force said Russia launched 137 drones overnight, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and Banderole attack drones, as well as Parody decoy drones.
“The air attack was repelled by the air force, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.
According to preliminary data, air defence forces shot down or neutralised 114 UAVs in the north, south, and east of the country.
Eighteen attack UAVs were recorded striking 16 locations, and the wreckage of downed UAVs was found at four locations.
The attack is ongoing, with several Russian UAVs in the airspace.
"Please observe safety precautions!” the Ukrainian Armed Forces said in a statement.
