Russian defence chief: New Almaz-Antey plant to produce air defence systems

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu has said that the high level of equipment of the Russian army and navy guarantees an adequate response to any threats to the country.

He made the remarks at the ceremony of handing over the building of the future missile plant of the Almaz-Antey Aerospace Defense Concern in the Rudnevo industrial park, according to TASS.

The head of the department noted that in a difficult military-political situation, it is important to maintain the equipment of Russian units at a level that “guarantees an adequate response to any challenges and threats to Russia’s security.”

Shoigu emphasized that this depends on the ability of defence enterprises to meet the needs for weapons in a short time. According to him, the launch of the plant will strengthen the military potential of the Russian Federation.
