Three dead, ten injured in methanol tanker fire in Iran's Bushehr VIDEO
A fire broke out on a ship carrying methanol at the dock of the Kaveh Methanol Company in the city of Dir, located in Iran’s southern Bushehr Province.
Hassan Mousavi, the head of prehospital care emergency services of Bushehr Province, confirmed that at least three people have died and ten people were injured in the incident, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.
The extent of their injuries and current medical condition have not yet been disclosed.
Emergency response teams remain on-site, actively engaged in containment and safety operations. Authorities have stated that further details on the cause of the fire and the progress of the rescue efforts will be released in due course.
This latest incident comes just two months after a deadly explosion at the Shahid Rajaee port in southern Iran, which killed 57 people. That blast was reportedly linked to improper chemical storage in cargo containers. An official inquiry into the April explosion is still ongoing.
