The operation was carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Justice and the Interpol-Europol Department of the General Directorate of Security.
Among those extradited was A.A.Y., who was wanted internationally for aggravated sexual abuse of a child and deprivation of liberty by force, threat, or deception. A.D., another suspect under a Red Notice, faced charges including murder, attempted premeditated murder, escape from prison, insult, injury, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, and making threats with a weapon. O.Ç., also sought internationally, was charged with resisting to prevent the performance of official duties.
Additionally, two individuals wanted at the national level were extradited. İ.K. was sought for murder using fire, flood, destruction, bombing, or weapons of mass destruction, while G.Y. was wanted for membership in the FETÖ terrorist organisation.
“No matter what notice they are wanted with, or which country they flee to, we will catch members of terrorist organisations, organised crime groups, and drug traffickers one by one and bring them back,” the minister stated.
He extended his thanks to the Ministry of Justice, the personnel involved in the operation, and the police forces in Artvin and Ardahan for their role in the successful extraditions.
