The signing took place at Indo Defence 2025, one of Southeast Asia’s largest defence exhibitions, held in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta. Roketsan, a key player in the Turkish defence industry, used the occasion to strengthen its cooperation with Indonesia through the conclusion of a new Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) with PT RDI.
Under the terms of this JVA, the two sides will work together to boost Indonesia’s domestic defence capabilities through local assembly, production, and long-term sustainability of rocket technologies. The agreement is seen as a significant step in the continued modernisation of the Indonesian Navy, expanding Roketsan’s role in that effort.
As part of the event, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto visited the Roketsan exhibition stand. Following his visit, Roketsan shared a message via social media, stating:
“We were honoured to present Roketsan's advanced defence solutions and exchange views on strategic cooperation in the field of defence technology.”
This latest missile deal follows a major agreement also announced at Indo Defence 2025, where Turkish aerospace firm TUSAŞ secured a contract to supply Indonesia with the KAAN national combat aircraft.
The deal will see 48 fifth-generation KAAN fighter jets produced in Türkiye and exported to Indonesia.
