Russian MoD: Another Ukrainian drone destroyed near Zmeiniy Island
Russian air defence systems have destroyed another UAV of the Ukrainian armed forces near Zmeiniy (Snake) Island. Nine UAVs were destroyed in just one night in Ukraine, the Russian Defence Ministry’s official representative, Maj-Gen Igor Konashenkov stated on May 11, TASS reports.
"Nine Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed at night by air defence, including four in the area of Kharkiv region's Balakleya settlement, three in Rubezhnoye area, one in the Snake Island area, and one Bayraktar TB2 in Mykolaiv region's Arkhangelsk settlement," he said.
Rocket troops and artillery of the Russian Land Forces hit over 400 targets in Ukraine overnight.
"Rocket troops and artillery units hit 407 concentrations of manpower and military equipment, destroying 13 control points, four anti-aircraft missile system 'Osa-AKM' positions, and 14 ammunition depots. More than 280 enemy soldiers were killed as a result of the strikes, and 59 pieces of military equipment were disabled," the Defence Ministry representative said.
"During the night, tactical and army aviation hit 93 objects, including two control points, 69 areas of concentration of manpower and military equipment, and three Ukrainian armed forces ammunition depots," Konashenkov added.
Some 164 aircraft, 125 helicopters, 807 unmanned aerial vehicles, 302 anti-aircraft missile systems, 2,998 tanks and other armoured combat vehicles, 360 multiple rocket launchers, 1,455 field artillery guns and mortars, and 2,808 units of special military automotive equipment have been destroyed since the start of the special military operation, the Defence Ministry said.
